About
Marina Niko
I believe that the artist is a tool that responds to any change in the “collective unconscious”, so it is vital for me to express these vibrations on the canvas. I am inspired by the rapid transformation of the technogenic world and its impact on modern man.
It is important for me to convey the feeling of the dissolution of the individual in the information flow, and I build my aesthetics under the impression of the era of virtual reality. I am interested in the emotional content of the drama of our time: high technology, the defenselessness of a person “in the network”, socio-cultural and internal contradictions. The internal conflict of the individual and the external one, when we are faced with the need to interact with society.
I work in the genre of modern realism, mainly in the classical technique of oil painting, but sometimes the choice of medium can depend on the task, and in order to emphasize it, I can choose a more suitable material.
I live and work in Samara. She received her higher education in engineering. In 2015 she graduated from the Samara Art College named after K.S. Petrov-Vodkin. I am a member of the Union of Artists of Russia.
